The APR K04 turbocharger system is a drop in turbo upgrade that significantly increases horsepower. With this upgrade and accompanying software, expect power similar to a Golf R, S3, TT-S and other high-end vehicles, as the K04 comes standard on these vehicles. Transient response is lightning fast with minimal lag. The power comes on quickly and stays strong across the entire power band. The CNC machined billet compressor wheel and stainless steel exhaust manifold is a substantial leap in technology, performance and reliability over the factory unit. Unlike the standard K04-64 unit, the APR unit is customized. We integrated the DV into the compressor cowl, just like the factory turbo it replaces. By doing so, clutter and complexity are removed. The DV mounts to the turbo, eliminating several potential leak points. We also removed the turbo muffler and added an ez-flow silicone hose. It is a simple and clean installation. With many thousands of these units sold for over a decade, we can confidently say that these turbos are powerful and reliable.
